The Australian Resuscitation Council is a voluntary co-ordinating body which represents all major groups involved in the teaching and practice of resuscitation. The Australian Resuscitation Council is sponsored by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. The Australian Resuscitation Council produces Guidelines to meet its objectives in fostering uniformity and simplicity in resuscitation techniques and terminology. Guidelines are produced after consideration of all available scientific and published material and are only issued after acceptance by all member organisations. This does not imply, however, that methods other than those recommended are ineffective. It is the policy of the Australian Resuscitation Council to respect the autonomy of member organisations.

ASCIA was established in 1990 as the peak professional body of clinical immunology/allergy specialists in Australia and New Zealand.
ASCIA is a member society of the World Allergy Organisation (WAO) and the Asia Pacific Association of Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology (APAAACI). ASCIA is affiliated with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) as a Specialty Society.
ASCIA's purpose is to advance the science and practice of allergy and clinical immunology.
This is achieved by promoting the highest standard of medical practice, training, education and research, to improve the quality of life and health of people with immune system disorders. These include allergies, immunodeficiencies and other immune diseases.
ASCIA anaphylaxis e-training for first aid (community) has been developed for people in the community, who need to know how to treat anaphylaxis in an emergency, but are not health professionals.
This includes people with allergies, their parents, carers, friends and colleagues. It is also suitable for people in workplaces, clubs and other institutions throughout Australia and New Zealand.
The course provides accessible, consistent and evidence based anaphylaxis education and is available free of charge at https://anaphylaxis.ascia.org.au
The course has been updated in 2021 to include two brands of adrenaline (epinephrine) injectors. New infographics and animated videos have also been included, to make the course more interactive and easier to complete.
Development and updating has involved an extensive review process with ASCIA members and other stakeholders throughout Australasia.
The course modules can be accessed in any order, however it is recommended that the modules are completed in the order presented. Successful completion of the final module allows you to print a certificate containing your name, the date and your pass mark.
